Overview & Features
The Grolar titanium gravel bike is ready for race and adventure. Designed by request from our ambassadors, the Grolar (Grizzly+Polar) is a gravel rolling bear. Featuring a distinctive head badge on the tapered headtube, and able to run 700cx50 or 650bx2.2 tires, the Grolar is configured to run far and fast in comfort.
The beautiful titanium frame is designed for rigid gravel forks and can also accept the Lauf Grit gravel suspension fork. The front triangle is extra large for endurance-sized frame bag capability. Triple bottle mounts on the top and bottom of the down tube and fender mounts allow multiple bikepacking and touring gear options. The Grolar is 2x compatible and has sliding rear dropouts with a post mount disc brake setup.
The rear triangle is designed to have a large amount of mud clearance and efficient yet compliant action. The Grolar is able to tackle a far wider range of terrain than just gravel roads. “Pavement, double-track, singletrack, and animal track, this bike will get you there.”
The Grolar titanium gravel bike is more than the sum of its parts!

I’ve ridden a wide range of top-shelf drop-bar MTB bikes in steel, titanium and carbon as well as my fair share of high-end road bikes. My Grolar is the smoothest, most supple rigid frame I’ve been on. I really don’t understand how this bike is so smooth. The sharp sting of washboard surfaces melt away and allow me to increase speed even more. Descents on gravel at 50mph or 20% uphill grades at 5mph, this bike is exceptionally well mannered. Confidence, stability, speed, durability and smoothness. This bike is grin inducing every time I ride it. Smooth, fast and fun! Did I mention how comfortable it is?

I had been looking for a gravel specific bike for awhile now. My previous gravel/do-it-all bike was a Salsa Fargo, and it’s still a great bike, but I knew I needed something a little more nimble and lighter while being strong. Enter the Grolar. This bike destroys gravel. It is the perfect harmony of strength while being extremely light. Pair it with a Lauf Grit suspension fork and the possibilities are endless.

I’ve had an incredibly positive experience working with George and Jalene from Binary Bicycles on the frame of my dreams…the Grolar. They were patient in answering all of my questions and the process to customize the frame was really easy. The timeline from purchase til I got my hands on the frame was as advertised and I was kept in the loop about the progress. Now that I’ve had the chance to build up the frame and ride it for a couple of months a few things stand out. First, the frame is just beautifully crafted. Second, the ride quality is just out of this world. Super smooth and stable, responsive on climbs, and is extremely capable on varied terrain. I’ve taken it on gravel roads, single track and on the tarmac and it’s performed beautifully. This truly is a lifetime frame! I’m fired up about the adventures to come.

Very pleased with customer service. When ordering the bike, I filled out the form for my standard sizing I’ve had with other bikes but fortunately, George caught that my body measurements didn’t quite fit the bike frame that I ordered. After a few emails, he set me straight and I’m very glad he did. The bike fit is amazing. The additional service saved my bacon, and I am very pleased with this bike.
George and Jalene are pleasant people to people to work with, great experience. I was on a bikepacking trip and ran into another Binary bike rider and he had a similar experience to mine. The bike is good quality and meets all expectations. The Grolar is light, responsive, and supple.
